Oh Say Can You See

Apr 28, 2014

Gateway Indoor’s 2014 season has come to an end, and with it we are left with many phenomenal memories and new friendships. The group had a very successful year, culminating in a 5th place finish at the WGI World Championships, with a score of 92.675 for the production, “Oh Say Can You See”.

We would like to first send a thank you to the companies that provide Gateway with the most outstanding equipment in the activity—our sponsors:

Pearl/Adams Corporation Innovative Percussion Sabian Ltd. Evans Drumheads TreeWorks Chimes Marching USA

Also, in order to make a Gateway season “work”, it takes the behind-the-scenes support from multiple individuals, groups, and schools. We would like to extend our appreciation and thank the following for their contribution to our success:

O'Fallon Township High School (Dr. Melissa Gustafson-Hinds, Sean Harris, and Evan Hinds), the staff of Camp Chautauqua, Tom McGillen, Erik Johnson, Conference Technologies Inc., St. Charles West High School, Newsome High School, Resistance Indoor Percussion, Sparkman High School, Mt. Juliet High School, Michael Raiford, Travis Neidergerke, Jeremy Jefferson, Josh Link, Jason Lord, Precious Dela Rosa, Luke Sesker, Adam Hooper and KSPR-ABC News, Troy Bowell, and of course, our members, staff and their families.

Thank you again, we are tremendously grateful for your support.

As we come to the end of this chapter, we are eager to start the next. If you are a musician who is still eligible to perform in WGI, please stay tuned for 2015 Audition information.

Lastly, Gateway Indoor’s Program Coordinator, Michael McIntosh, has some closing remarks:

“I’d like to thank the staff for trusting the vision and doing an amazing job with the group, and the members for writing a wonderful ending to the 2014 story. Thank you to Travis Neidergerke and Scott Goodmundson for their help with the media layer—a special shout out to Scott for his amazing work with Gateway’s social media content. Huge shout out to Paul Richardson and Dana Schwarz for getting us down the road. To the Design Team for letting me be crazy—I love you guys! To Jason Palmer for lending his amazing artistry. Thank you Drake Melson for coordinating the season. Finally, huge shout out to Chad Schaedler who sat with me in Vegas and dreamed of this day three years ago.” - Michael McIntosh
